Women's Basketball Selected Seventh in Preseason Coaches Poll

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference's 11 head women's basketball coaches have cast their vote in the 2019-20 edition of the preseason coaches poll and the United States Merchant Marine Academy has been selected at the top of the ledger after capturing its first conference title one season ago.

Farmingdale State has been chosen to finish in seventh place and return three starters from last season. Senior guard Nia Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) averaged 14.9 points per game and connected on a team-high 65 3-pointers, while junior guard Alexis Hunter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Rams with 12.3 rebounds a contest. Junior guard Jami Cardenas (Bay Shore, N.Y.) averaged 6.0 points, 2.8 boards and shot 71% from the free-throw line in 2018-19.

FSC, behind first year head coach Mark Dellecave, opens the season on Tuesday, November 12th with a home non-conference game against NYU tipping off at 6:00 p.m.
