New York, N.Y. - Farmingdale State sophomore guard Destiny Hurt (Long Beach, N.Y.) has been named Met Basketball Writers Division II/III Honorable Mention Player of the Week. Seton Hall's Shadeen Samuels (Division I) and Sarah Coutu of Manhattanville College (Division II/III) were this week's Player of the Week recipients.
In a pair of games last week, Hurt averaged 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and five steals per game. Since joining the team in late December, she leads the team with 18.8 points and 2.8 steals per game. Hurt is also shooting a team-leading 40% from the field this season.
The FSC women's basketball team next hosts conference opponent St. Joseph's-Long Island on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:30 p.m.
