Old Westbury Remains Undefeated with Win Over Farmingdale State

Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team traveled to Skyline Conference opponent Old Westbury on Tuesday evening and fell, 76-33. The Rams dropped to 0-5 (0-2 Skyline), while the Panthers improved to a perfect 7-0 (2-0 Skyline).

Old Westbury started quickly as they jumped out to a 14-1 advantage just 4:09 into the game. The Panthers led 25-6 at the end of the first quarter and outscored Farmingdale State 11-2 to start the second to open up a 36-8 advantage. Trailing 41-12, FSC freshman guard Mackenzie Tierney (Levittown, N.Y.) knocked down a 3 to close the half as the Rams entered the third down 41-15.

The Panthers outscored Farmingdale State 19-11 in the third quarter and 16-7 in the fourth en route to the 76-33 conference victory.

FSC freshman guard Stacy Papantoniou (Whitestone, N.Y.), who shot 4-for-6 from the field, recorded a team-high 10 points and five rebounds. 

Old Westbury was led by senior forward Monique Joseph (Elmont, N.Y.) who tallied a game-high 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

The Rams next host Merchant Marine for a conference game on Thursday, December 6th at 5:30 p.m.
