Rams Defeat Yeshiva as Head Coach Chris Mooney Earns 300th Career Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team recorded an 81-39 home victory over Yeshiva University in a Skyline Conference game this afternoon. FSC Head Coach Chris Mooney, who is in his 18th season at the helm, earned his 300th career win today. Coach Mooney now holds an all-time record of 300-174.

In a first quarter dominated by Farmingdale State (9-10, 8-4), the Rams outscored the Maccabees (4-12, 2-8) 27-2. FSC held a two-point edge, 14-12, in the second quarter and took a 41-14 advantage into the break. FSC senior guard Liz Durchhalter (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led all scorers with 12 first half points on 4-of-5 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arc.

Leading 50-24 with 5:18 left to play in the third, the Rams used a 9-2 run over the next 2:56 to go up by 33, 59-26. Farmingdale State went into the final quarter leading 63-29 and outscored Yeshiva 18-10 in the fourth to cap off the 81-39 victory.

FSC senior guard Kaelyn Ward (East Hampton, N.Y.) tallied game-highs in both points (19) and steals (6) to go along with eight rebounds, while senior forward Essence Casey (Huntington Station, N.Y.) carded a double-double on 15 points (7-for-13 shooting) and 11 boards. Junior guard Alexis Antonacci (Plainview, N.Y.) finished the day with seven points, four steals and a game-high seven assists.

For the Maccabees, senior forward Michal Alge (Boston, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

The Rams next will travel to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn for a conference game on Tuesday, January 30th at 5:00 p.m.
