Balanced Offense Leads Rams over Yeshiva

Farmingdale State - 79, Yeshiva - 46


Old Westbury, N.Y. – In today's Skyline Conference women's basketball game, Farmingdale State (3-2, 2-0 Skyline) used 12 different scorers to earn a 79-46 victory over Yeshiva (2-3, 0-2 Skyline).

Tied at 13 with 8:03 left in the second period, the Rams used a 14-2 run over the next 3 minutes and 10 seconds to take a 27-15 lead. Farmingdale led 34-22 at the half.

Maccabees junior forward Michal Alge (Boston, Mass.) led all scorers with eight first half points, while sophomore forward AJ Smith (Freeport, N.Y.) connected for three baskets to lead the Rams with seven points.

At the start of the second half, Farmingdale used a pair of three-pointers by junior guards Liz Durchhalter (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) to extend the lead to 40-22.

The Rams outscored Yeshiva 45-24 in the second half as they earned the conference win.

For Farmingdale State, Smith was 6-for-13 from the floor with a game-high 16 points, while Harrison chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists on the game.

Essence Casey (Huntington Station, N.Y.), Chelsea May (Baldwin, N.Y.), Charnae Jenkins (Rockville Center, N.Y.), Kaelyn Ward (East Hampton, N.Y.) and Chasity Byrd (Roslyn, N.Y.) each tallied six points in the victory.

The Rams will next travel to St. Joseph's-L.I. looking for their third straight conference victory on Saturday, December 10th at 1:00 p.m.
