Rams Roll to Victory over St. Joe's Brooklyn

Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team rolled to a 75-62 victory over St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Thursday night. The Rams now stand at 4-5 overall, 3-1 in Skyline play while the Bears dropped to 1-9 overall, 1-3 in conference play.

After a 22-point first quarter and adding 23 in the second, Farmingdale State held a 45-24 advantage at the halftime break. The Rams made six three's in the first half, including three from junior guard Meghan Cleary (East Meadow, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State cruised to the conference win the rest of the way as they held St. Joe's to 29-percent shooting from the field and 22-percent from long range.

The Rams scoring was led by sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) with 32 points and eight assists, while Cleary finished with career-highs of 16 points and five three-pointers. Junior guard Charnae Jenkins (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) posted 14 points and three steals. Sophomore guard Marissa Monaco (Bohemia, N.Y.) tied her career-high with a 10 rebound effort.

For St. Joe's, freshman guard Victoria Porcasi (Franklin Square, N.Y.) finished with a team-high 18 points, while senior guard Eric Eddy (Glendale, N.Y.) and sophomore guard Destiny Marino (Middle Village, N.Y.) chipped in with 10 points apiece.

Farmingdale State will now travel to the University of Scranton for the Poinsettia Classic on December 15-16. The Rams will face Eastern on Tuesday, December 15th and will play in the Consolation or Championship game on Wednesday, December 16th at 3 or 5pm.
