Desvignes Named Player of the Year, Lanteri Earns Second Team Honors

New York, N.Y. - Farmingdale State junior guard Andrea Desvignes (Deer Park, N.Y.) has been named the 2014-15 Skyline Women's Basketball Player of the Year in voting conducted among the Conference's seven head coaches.

The conference leader in both scoring (18.9 ppg.) and steals (4.17 spg.), Desvignes has scored at least 20 points on 12 different occasions entering the Rams' Skyline semifinal contest on February 26th versus Mount Saint Mary. The Deer Park, N.Y. resident leads Farmingdale State in both assists (89) and 3-point field goals made (56) and averaged 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in league play as FSC captured the Skyline regular season crown with a perfect 12-0 record. In Division III, she is ranked second in steals per game, 34th in points per game and 65th in 3's made per game.

Senior guard Nicole Lanteri (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) was named Second Team All-Conference. She led the team in field goal percentage (.368) and free-throw percentage (.808), was second in scoring (13.1 ppg), 3-point field goal percentage (.284), assists (71) and steals (60) and fourth in blocked shots with eight. In the conference, Lanteri ranked seventh in both scoring and steals and ninth in assist/turnover ratio (0.95).

Head Coach Chris Mooney, in his 15th season at the helm, was named the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year. The Rams enter the playoffs riding an 11-game winning streak.
