- Williams named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #5 on Monday, December 15th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (2-7, 0-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 1-1 mark in a pair of non-conference games last week. Farmingdale State held off Medgar Evers for an 89-83 triple overtime win before falling to Ramapo 80-72 on Saturday.

Freshman forward Eriq Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Williams averaged 15.5 points, 14.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks, while shooting 50 percent (10-of-20) from the field. He poured in 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the victory over Medgar Evers where he also shot 9-of-10 from the foul line. Williams compiled eight points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in the home loss to Ramapo. He added five assists and three steals on the week.

Senior guard Justin Bailey (Jamaica, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds a game.

The men's basketball team next will travel to Mount Saint Vincent for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, January 3rd at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (3-4, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State suffered a pair of non-conference losses to NYU and Albertus Magnus last week.

Junior guard Andrea Desvignes (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging 16.5 points, 5.5 steals and 4.0 assists.

This week the women's basketball team will travel to Manhattanville for a non-conference game on Wednesday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m.
