FSC Drops Non-Conference Game at Albertus Magnus

Albertus Magnus - 75, Farmingdale State - 60


New Haven, Conn. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team traveled to Albertus Magnus for a non-conference game and fell, 75-60, on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 5-4 on the year, while the Rams fall to 3-4 overall. The Falcons are now 1-1 all-time against the Rams after suffering a 72-59 setback on Jan. 8 of last season.

The first half of today's contest was a back-and-forth battle before the Falcons went into the break with a 37-33 lead.  Albertus shot 40% (15-of-37) from the floor in the opening half, while the Rams shot 33.3% (14-of-42). 

Albertus led by as many as 17 points in the final two minutes of play. The Falcons finished the game shooting 37% (27-of-73), while the Rams shot 26.9% (21-of-78).

Junior Chelsea Sherrod (Bridgeport, Conn.) led the Falcons with her 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor, while she pulled down 14 boards for the Falcons for her fourth game of the season with double-figure rebounds.

Albertus out rebounded the Rams 59-48 on the afternoon. Freshman Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.), Sherrod and Pendagast combined for 42 of the Falcons' 59 rebounds.  Bolden added nine points and Alexa Riley (Cromwell, Conn.) scored 11 points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) registered her fourth-straight game in double figures.  It was also her fourth double-double of the year as she tallied 16 boards to go along with 18 points.

Junior guard Andrea Desvignes (Deer Park, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with 19 points. Senior guard Camille Romero (Queens, N.Y.), who averaged over 19 points per game before today's contest, finished with 15 before fouling out.

The Rams next will travel to Manhattanville for a non-conference game on Wednesday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m.
