- Young picks up Second Team honors -
New York, N.Y. (April 5, 2013) – Floriana Borova of Wm. Paterson has been named the All Met Division III women's college basketball Player of the Year by the Met Basketball Writers Association. Karin Harvey of Montclair State was named Coach of the Year.
Borova, a 5-9 junior guard from Cresskill, N.J., also was named to the All NJAC First Team and was a WBCA All America honorable mention. She led the league with 20.3 ppg (16th nationally) and 589 pts, 5.0 assists (27th nation), 4.0 steals (8th nation). Borova had 5.7 rpg and was No. 1 in the NJAC in 3FGs made per game (2.5, 45th nation).
Harvey earned her third NJAC Coach of the Year honor and also was the WBCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. The Red Hawks were 16-0 during theNJAC regular season, won NJAC tournament, ran off 29 straight victories and finished 29-1 overall. The teams defeatedRegis in the NCAA first round and Lebanon Valley in the second round before bowing out in a sectional semifinal.
