Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #12

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #12 on Monday, February 11th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (17-6, 13-3) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 1-1 record in a pair of Skyline Conference games last week. Farmingdale State earned a 106-63 home win over St. Joe's on Wednesday and fell 84-65 at Purchase Sunday afternoon.

Senior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named Co-Skyline Player of the Week. Matthews averaged 20.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 6.5 blocks on the week. He scored 25 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and tied his program record with nine blocks against St. Joe's. Matthews scored 16 points and tallied 14 rebounds in the loss at Purchase, while adding four assists and three steals in the two games. Matthews was named the Skyline Player of the Week for the sixth time this season.

This week on senior night the men's team will host Yeshiva on Tuesday, February 12th at 8:00 p.m. before closing out the regular season at Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, February 16th at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (9-11, 7-5) - Full Report

The women's team dropped a pair of conference games this week with losses against St. Joseph's and Purchase.

Junior guard Nicky Young (Queens, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Young scored 31 points and had nine rebounds versus Purchase and added 24 points and eight steals against St. Joe's. For the week,  she led the Rams with 27.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and five steals per game.

This week Farmingdale State hosts NYU-Poly for senior night on Thursday, February 14th at 6:00 p.m. and then travels to Mount Saint Mary for their regular season finale on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
