Rams with Season-Highs in Win over Dolphins

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team posted seven season-highs in today's 72-46 victory over Skyline opponent the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The Rams season-highs were set in points, field goal percentage, field goals made, 3-pointers, 3-point percentage, assists and steals.

In the first, the teams traded the lead six times and were tied 11-11 with 14:28 on the clock before the Rams pulled away as they shot 60-percent from long range (6-of-10) and 50-percent from the field. Farmingdale held a 45-22 advantage at the break with a team-high 12 points and five steals from senior guard Jeanette Zubizarreta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and would hold on throughout the second for the conference win.

Zubizarreta finished with a team-high 18 points, including 5-of-7 from 3-point territory, along with six steals for the Rams. Junior guard Baytania Newman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also scored in double figures with 10 points, six steals and four assists.

Sophomore guard Andrea Sinaly (Middle Village, N.Y.) and freshman center Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) were the high scorers for the Dolphins with 10 points each. Senior forward Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.J.) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Rams will travel to Purchase College on Thursday, February 9th for a Skyline game at 6:00 p.m.
