Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team improved to 2-3 on the season, 2-0 in conference play with a 74-41 Skyline victory over Bard College (3-5, 1-3) this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. Junior guard Kim Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) led the Rams with a game-high 26 points and seven steals.

In the first half the game was tied 12-12 with 11:30 remaining, before Farmingdale went on an 8-0 run over the next seven minutes capped off by two Blakney layups assisted by freshman guard Shemique Hooks (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury). Bard freshman guard Caitlin Dullea (West Stockholm, N.Y./Potsdam) banked a three-pointer to end the Rams run and cut the Raptors deficit to five. Farmingdale State took a 32-20 lead into the locker room. 

The Rams opened the second half on an 18-3 run and held the Raptors to 21 points throughout. Farmingdale State sophomore guard Janel Monah (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) finished with 14 points, shooting 7-for-13 from the field. Hooks and freshman forward Domonique Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) both scored 10 points in the game. Hooks also had six assists and five steals in the win.

Bard sophomore forward Blaire Moldenhauer (Albany, Mo./Albany) tallied 17 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks and four assists.

The Rams will host Oswego State in a non-conference matchup on December 16th, at 4:00pm.
