Women's Basketball Season Recap
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women’s basketball
team finished their season with a 19-7 record, losing in the
Skyline Conference Championship game to top-seeded Mount Saint
Mary. The Rams received a bye in the First Round and defeated Mount
Saint Vincent in the Semifinals to advance to the Championship
game. For the 5th straight season, the Rams then received a bid to
the ECAC Championships.
Sophomore Kimberly Blakney received First Team All-Skyline and ECAC
2nd Team honors, after leading the team in scoring, averaging over
17 points per game. Seniors Mercedes Miller and Dankery Perez both
hit personal milestones in their final season for the Rams. Miller
scored her 1,000th point and Perez hit the 600 assist mark. Senior
Christine Daley led the team in three-point field goals and
finished 3rd on the team in scoring. Senior Jasmine Sistrunk was
the defensive leader grabbing over 7 rebounds per game and
finishing 4th in scoring.
