Farmingdale State women's basketball improved to 15-4, 13-1 in
the Skyline with an 82-39 victory over visiting Russell Sage (5-16,
4-11) today in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams had 11 players score four
or more point in the win, with sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney
(Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) leading the way with 16 points,
seven rebounds and five steals.
Sophomore guard Kamaya Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) finished
with 10 points for Farmingdale State, along with freshman guard
Janel Monah (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) . Senior center Mercedes
Miller (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) and sophomore guard
Tiffara Steward (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) both contributed eight
points. Senior guard Dankery Perez (New York, N.Y./Manhattan
Center) dished off six assists today, making her now just one
assist away of reaching 500 career assists.
Russell Sage was led by senior guard Lynsee Barnes (Guilderland,
N.Y.) with 11 points and senior guard Ashley Wojcicki (Broadalbin,
N.Y.) with eight points and six rebounds.
Farmingdale State will host Bard College on Thursday, February 14th
at 6:00 p.m. There will be a special ceremony honoring the women's
soccer team and our five Chancellor’s Scholar Athletes from
last year during halftime of the men's game at 8:00 p.m. Coca-Cola,
in conjunction with Aramark, will be present giving out free food,
drink and prizes.
