Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State women’s
basketball team improved to 14-4, 12-1 in the Skyline with an 81-45
conference victory over Polytechnic University (7-13, 4-10)
tonight. Sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin
Banneker) led the Rams with 14 points, while senior guard Christine
Daley (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) scored 13 points.
Senior center Mercedes Miller (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center)
grabbed 13 rebounds and added 9 points. Sophomore guard Tiffara
Steward (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) scored 10 points in 13 minutes of
play for Farmingdale State.
For Polytechnic, senior center Jackie Calandriello (Staten Island,
N.Y./Notre Dame Acad.) had the games only double-double with 15
rebounds and 11 points. Senior guard Kristen Partch (Staten Island,
N.Y./Susan Wagner) finished with a game-high 19 points.
Farmingdale State will host Russell Sage this Saturday, February
9th at 3:00 p.m.
