After only leading by three at the half, 31-28, Farmingdale (9-3, 6-0) rolled to a 70-50 victory over the Merchant Marine Academy (6-7, 2-3) in yesterday’s Skyline Conference action. The Rams were led by junior Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Reg.) with a game-high 18 points, including 5-for-10 from behind the arc. Sophomore Caress Lovelace (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker) finished with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
For the Mariners, freshman May Marie Hayes totaled 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Andrea Carey had 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Farmingdale will host conference rival Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday at 2:00pm. Mount Saint Mary is riding a 47-0 regular season conference win streak and has won five straight conference championships.
