Ashland, Va. - The Farmingdale State softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Regionals this afternoon with a 6-2 loss to #21 Susquehanna. In the bottom of the first, senior catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) led off with her ninth home run of the season (5th all-time) to cut their deficit to 4-1.

Susquehanna held FSC to just three hits over the next five innings, while increasing their lead to 6-1 with two runs in the top of the sixth.

The Rams tallied their final run in the bottom of the seventh as sophomore third baseman Angelina Capuano (Sayville, N.Y.) hit a single and scored on an RBI double from senior shortstop Julianna Prescia (Oakdale, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State loaded the bases with two outs in the inning but were unable to push across another run as they fell, 6-2.

Shaw went 2-for-2 with two walks and a home run, while Prescia notched a double and one RBI. Capuano recorded a hit and a run scored and both Brooke Walker (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) and Allie Stanya (Manorville, N.Y.) each had a hit for FSC.
