Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State softball team cruised to a pair of run-rule victories over Skyline Conference opponent Sarah Lawrence this evening. Farmingdale State improves to a perfect 8-0 in conference play and 17-2 overall.

The Rams scored in all four trips to the plate in game one en route to a 16-0 victory.

Senior third baseman Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) hit two home runs and double with six runs batted in. Her two home runs is tied for second all-time in a single game, the six RBI's is tied for fourth and 10 total bases is tied for fifth. Sophomore right fielder Jenna Giliberti (Bellmore, N.Y.) finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while senior second baseman Julianna Prescia (Oakdale, N.Y.) recorded three hits and three runs scored. Senior shortstop Jessica Clark (Selden, N.Y.) hit an inside-the-park home run as she was 2-for-3 with two RBI's and two runs scored. Senior left fielder Allie Stanya (Manorville, N.Y.) also notched two hits with two runs scored in the win.

Freshman pitcher Ava Shorr (North Babylon, N.Y.) (W, 8-1) tossed a one-hitter with a career-high nine strikeouts to earn her eighth win of the season.

In game two, FSC scored four runs in the first inning and nine in the third as they picked up a 13-0 victory.

Prescia tied the single-game school record with a pair of triples, to go along with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Senior center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.) added three singles and three runs scored, while Clark had a triple and two runs batted in. Giliberti had a hit and scored three times and junior third baseman Giana Galanoudis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded a double, RBI and one run scored.

Stanya struck out 12 batters (8th all-time) and allowed just two hits to improve to 9-0 on the year for the Rams.

Farmingdale State will next head on the road to play non-conference opponent FDU-Florham in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 19th at 3:00 p.m.
