Softball Headed to Virginia Wesleyan University for NCAA Regionals

Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Softball Committee has announced the 48 teams that will compete in the Division III Softball Championship.

The regional round will be held May 20-23. Six teams will compete at eight regional sites. The finals, hosted by Old Dominion Athletic Conference and city of Salem, will be held May 27-June 1 at Moyer Park in Salem, Virginia. All rounds will use a double-elimination format.

Farmingdale State will travel to Virginia Beach, Va. to play in the regional hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University. The six-team bracket, in seed order, features Virginia Wesleyan (37-5-1), TCNJ (23-3), Moravian (30-1), Farmingdale State (19-5), Gettysburg (11-3) and Penn College (19-3).

The Rams will open play in the double-elimination regional against Moravian on Friday, May 21st at 2:00 p.m.

FSC earned the conference's automatic bid into the regionals by winning the Skyline Championship this past weekend. Farmingdale State entered Sunday with one loss and picked up a pair of victories over Manhattanville to claim the title.

The Rams are led by sophomore pitcher Allie Stanya (Babylon, N.Y.). Stanya, who was just named the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year, holds a 13-2 record with 11 complete games and a 0.65 earned run average.

Moravian (30-1) won the Landmark Conference title to earn their spot in the NCAA Championship. The Greyhounds were undefeated at 28-0 before dropping a game to Scranton in the conference tournament. Moravian bounced back with two wins over the Royals to capture the championship and improve to 30-1 overall.

Moravian is led by sophomore pitcher Madison Hummel (Roselle Park, N.J.) who was named to the NFCA All-Atlantic Region First Team. She holds a record of 14-1 with 94.1 innings pitched and a 1.63 ERA.

TICKETS

  • All tickets will be sold through Advanced Sales Only
  • No walk-ups or day-of purchases
  • There is a limited number of tickets allocated to each team and will be sold by participating schools prior to arrival at Virginia Wesleyan
  • Tickets will be $25 and are TEAM specific

PARKING

  • All parking is free and will be on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University
  • Handicap accessible parking is available near TowneBank Park

VENUE INFORMATION

  • TowneBank Park will be cleared after each game
  • At this time there are no concessions. Fans may bring a small cooler that is subject to inspection upon entrance into the venue
  • Absolutely no alcohol or tobacco products will be permitted

COVID-19 Rules & Regulations

  • All current campus COVID protocols are still in place and include fans wearing masks and social distancing
