Farmingdale, N.Y. - The FSC softball team defeated #4 Mount Saint Mary, 12-0, to advance to the final day of the 2021 Skyline Conference Softball Championship. Farmingdale State dropped their first game of the day to second-seeded Manhattanville, 6-0, before earning the win over the Knights.

In the first game, Farmingdale State (17-5) sophomore Allie Stanya (Babylon, N.Y.) (L, 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 8 SO) and Manhattanville (20-3) freshman Kylie Pester (Spokane, Wash.) The Valiants broke through in the fifth, scoring three unearned runs. With runners on second and third, an error allowed sophomore designated player Abby Tanuma (Chula Vista, Calif.) to score and give Manhattanville a 1-0 advantage. Later in the inning, senior center fielder Isela Casillas (Chula Vista, Calif.) hit a two-out, two-run single to put the Valiants on top, 3-0.

Manhattanville extended their lead in the sixth on an RBI double by Tanuma to go in front, 4-0. The Valiants added two more runs on an error to take a commanding 6-0 lead.

The Rams were held to just one base hit the rest of the way as Pester earned the complete game shutout, 6-0.

In the first inning of game two, FSC put runners on first and second with one out, but a double play allowed Knights' (17-12) freshman pitcher Bridget Morris (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) to escape the jam.

In the bottom half of the first, MSMC had runners on first and third with none out. FSC sophomore pitcher Christina Loeffler (East Meadow, N.Y.) would tally a pair of strike outs and a pop out to keep the game scoreless.

Farmingdale State got on the board in the second after freshman third baseman Brooke Walker (Westhampton, N.Y.) led off with a triple and scored on an RBI double from sophomore right fielder Julianna Prescia (Oakdale, N.Y.) to take a 1-0 advantage.

In the top of the fourth, the Rams scored 11 unearned runs to go in front, 12-0. Loeffler had two hits and three RBI's in the inning, while Prescia had two runs batted in and two runs scored. Sophomore catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) (1 RBI), sophomore center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.) (2 RBI) and sophomore shortstop Jessica Clark (Selden, N.Y.) (2 RBI) each drove in runs in the inning.

Loeffler and freshman pitcher Julia Pastrana (Central Islip, N.Y.) (1.0 IP) did not allow a run in the final two innings as Farmingdale State picked up the 12-0 run-rule victory.

Clark was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBI's, while Shaw had three hits, an RBI and one run scored. Prescia was 2-for-4 with a triple, double, three runs batted in and two runs scored, Loeffler notched two hits, three RBI's and one run scored, and Rivera finished with two hits and two RBI's. Walker added three hits, including a triple, in the victory.
