Ludewig Leads Rams to Win in Regular Season Finale

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State senior catcher Courtney Ludewig (Bethpage, N.Y.) went 5-for-5 with a double and three runs scored in the Rams 12-0 run-rule victory over Mount Saint Vincent this evening. The FSC softball team ends the regular season 15-4 overall and 15-2 in conference play and sits atop the Skyline Conference standings.

Rams' sophomore pitcher Christina Loeffler (East Meadow, N.Y.) got the Rams on the board early as she hit a two-run single in the top of the first.

Farmingdale State extended their lead with four unearned runs in the second to go in front, 6-0.

In the third, Loeffler and freshman shortstop Adrianna Fasano (Deer Park, N.Y.) hit back-to-back RBI singles to give the Rams an 8-0 lead.

Ahead 9-0 later in the inning, freshman right fielder Giana Galanoudis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) notched an RBI single and freshman left fielder Gia D'Andrea (Howard Beach, N.Y.) walked to drive in a run.

The Rams 12th run came on a wild pitch that scored freshman center fielder Gianna DiLillo (East Northport, N.Y.).

Loeffler (W, 5-1) tossed a complete game shutout, allowing only four baserunners, to earn her fifth win of the season.

Farmingdale State has clinched the #1 seed for the Skyline Conference Championship and will host the four-team, double-elimination tournament from Friday, May 14th to Sunday, May 16th.
