Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State sophomore pitchers Allie Stanya (Babylon, N.Y.) (W, 8-1, 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 5 SO) and Christina Loeffler (East Meadow, N.Y.) (W, 3-1, 6.0 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 4 SO) each earned complete game victories in this evenings doubleheader against Mount Saint Mary. Stanya led the Rams to an 8-0 shutout in game one, before Loeffler guided FSC to a 9-1 decision in the second game. With the wins, Farmingdale State improved to 11-2 in Skyline Conference play.

With FSC (11-3) leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third of game one, senior first baseman Jessica Lombardo (Levittown, N.Y.) registered a two-out, RBI single to extend the Rams advantage to 3-0.

In the fourth, Farmingdale State took a 5-0 lead after a throwing error by the Knights (12-8, 10-6 Skyline) led to two unearned runs.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, freshman third baseman Brooke Walker (Westhampton, N.Y.) hit a homerun over the left field fence as the Rams went up, 6-0.

After a pair of walks, by Stanya and junior left fielder Lexie Collard (Deer Park, N.Y.), and a single, by sophomore center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.), loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth, sophomore shortstop Jessica Clark (Selden, N.Y.) hit a two-run single to clinch Farmingdale State's 8-0 run-rule victory.

Walker finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Lombardo tallied two hits, one run and one RBI. Clark had one hit and two runs batted in and Rivera went 1-for-1 with two walks.

Stanya, who had a hit and two runs scored at the plate, allowed just three hits in the complete game shutout.

Still scoreless in the top of the third inning of game two, Knights' freshman third baseman Riley Norwood (East Haven, N.Y.) led off with a walk. The next batter was freshman second baseman Sofia Gannon (East Patchogue, N.Y.) who hit a double to center field. Norwood attempted to score on the hit but was thrown out at home as the game remained 0-0.

In the bottom in the third, freshman third baseman Angelina Capuano (Sayville, N.Y.) led off with a single and quickly stole second base. After back-to-back strikeouts, sophomore catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) hit a two-out, RBI single up the middle to score Capuano and put the Rams in front, 1-0.

After Loeffler stranded a pair of Mount Saint Mary runners in the top of the fourth, FSC tallied four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 5-0 advantage. With two outs in the inning, Capuano recorded a two-run double before Collard hit an RBI single. The final run of the inning came on a wild pitch which allowed junior second baseman Amaris Negron (Central Islip, N.Y.) to score.

Leading 5-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Mount Saint Mary recorded two quick outs before an error extended the inning and a Negron single put runners on first and second. After a wild pitch, Collard hit a two-run single to go up, 7-1. The final two runs came across on a double by sophomore catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) and a single by Rivera as the Rams went on for the 9-1 win.

Capuano (2 RBI, 3 R), Collard (3 RBI, 1 R) and Negron (2 R) registered two hits apiece to lead FSC to the victory.

The Rams will finish up their four-game series with a pair of road games at Mount Saint Mary on Sunday, May 2nd at noon.
