Skyline Releases Softball Report #6
- Farber named Player of the Week, Zino Pitcher of the Week -
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the sixth softball report for the 2011 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Senior shortstop Nicole Farber (Oakdale, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week for softball. Farber collected 10 hits in 16 at-bats with 16 RBI and nine runs scored in leading the Rams to a 4-0 mark on the week. Farber hit four home runs, including three grand slams in the doubleheader versus Mount Saint Vincent. Nicole has been named the Skyline Player of the Week twice this season.
Junior pitcher Hope Zino (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. Zino earned her fourth Skyline Pitcher of the Week citation after tossing a pair of complete-game shutouts in Farmingdale State's doubleheader sweep (1-0, 6-0) of Mount Saint Mary on April 15th. Zino allowed only six hits and walked two batters, while striking out 19 in 14 innings of work.
