Skyline Releases Softball Report #3
- Jarczynski named Player of the Week, Zino Pitcher of the Week -
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the third softball report for the 2011 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Sophomore outfielder Jennifer Jarczynski (West Babylon, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week for softball. Jarczynski cracked a program-record three home runs in a 13-0 win over Purchase. She hit 9-for-19 (.474) with 10 RBI and seven runs scored on the week. Jennifer added three steals and a pair of doubles in a 6-0 week for Farmingdale State.
Junior pitcher Hope Zino (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. Zino won all four of her starts on the week and did not allow an earned run in 25 innings pitched. She struck out 48 and walked just three while scattering nine hits and three unearned runs. Zino tossed a no-hitter and struck out 11 batters in a 19-0 win over Purchase. Hope improved to 9-0 on the year and holds an impressive 0.35 E.R.A. Zino was named the Skyline Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.
Freshman catcher Amanda Morelli (Bohemia, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Morelli hit .500 with four runs batted in on the week.
