Farmingdale, NY - The Farmingdale State softball team (7-6, 3-1) split a doubleheader against Skyline opponent Centenary College (7-7, 5-1) this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. Both games were won in the 7th inning with the first going to Farmingdale in the bottom of the seventh, 7-6, and the second to Centenary in the top of the 7th, 9-5. In the seventh, the Cyclones went up 6-5 in the top of the inning. Senior Gina Moscato (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) opened up the inning with a double, before sophomore Corinne Vinberg (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) came in to pinch run. A passed ball would move Vinberg to first and junior Erin Dodge (Plainedge, N.Y./Island Trees) would score Vinberg with an RBI single to tie the game at 6. Sophomore Kristen Dawes (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) sacrifice bunted a single and junior Ryan Woodiwiss (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) walked to move Dodge over to third. Riservato would single and bring in Dodge for the game-winning hit and the 7-6 conference victory.

Game two was a close one as well. The Rams were up by one, 4-3, going into the top of the 7th. Centenary broke it open, scoring six runs, five of them unearned. Junior center fielder Jessa Jones (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) drove in the tying and go ahead run with a triple to right center.

Farmingdale tried for a come back but was only able to score one in the bottom half of the frame on a freshman first baseman Cristina Weigel's (Massapequa, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) single to center, scoring Dawes. Weigel added another single and a run scored earlier in the game. Dawes finished 2-for-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored.
