Calogianes Earns Sixth Place at SJNY Invitational

KINGS PARK, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams placed eighth and 13th, respectively, at the St. Joseph's-Long Island Invitational on Saturday.

St. Thomas Aquinas was victorious in the men's 8k, while Felician took home the win in the women's 5k race.

FSC senior Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) led the way after recording a time of 28:26.91 and placing sixth out of 177 runners. 

Senior Connor McKeever (West Babylon, N.Y.) posted a time of 30:21.61 and came in 29th.

Sophomore Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) finished the 8k in 31:22.06 and placed 43rd overall, while sophomore Patrick Vierling (Deer Park, N.Y.) (32:57.03) ran an average mile of 6:38 and tallied 60th overall.

In the women's 5k, sophomore Gianna Scibelli (North Babylon, N.Y.) placed 55th (out of 145) in a time of 26:31.23.

Junior Jillian Kosky (Merrick, N.Y.) completed the race in 28:04.63 and registered 70th place.

Freshman Loamy Maldonado (Brentwood, N.Y.) came in 79th in 29:10.06

Farmingdale State next competes at the Skyline Conference Championships on Sunday, October 23rd at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y. The women's 6k will commence at 11:00 a.m. with the men's 8k to follow at noon.
