FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College cross country teams competed Friday afternoon in the Golden Eagle Invitational at Bethpage State Park, with the men's and women's teams placing sixth and eighth, respectively.

In women's action, Rams senior Alycia Haynes (Adams Ctr., N.Y.) continued her strong campaign, placing second on the 5,000-meter course with a time of 19:22.32. Freshman Loamy Maldonado (Brentwood, N.Y.) placed 35th with a time of 27:09.04, while senior Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) checked in with a 49th-place effort of 29:35.74.

The FSC men's side was led by a 21st-place showing from sophomore Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.), who crossed the finish line on the 8,000-meter course in a time of 28:47.70. Senior Connor McKeever (No. Babylon, N.Y.) placed 26th with his 29:13.34 time, while senior Thomas Moeller (Kings Park, N.Y.; 30:58.67) and sophomores Patrick Vierling (Deer Park, N.Y.; 31:02.54) and Daniel Catano (Deer Park, N.Y.; 31:09.81) each finished in the top-50.

Head coach Daniela Georgieva's Rams are back in action next Saturday (Oct. 8), when they travel to Newark, N.J., for the NJIT Highlander Challenge at Branch Brook Park.
