Haynes Earns Eighth Place Finish at Adelphi Invite

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2022 season at the Adelphi Panthers Invite at Bethpage State Park on Friday evening. As a team, the men finished in 11th, with the women placing 12th. East Stroudsburg took the men's 8k race with an average time of 26:57, while host-school Adelphi (21:09 average time) captured the victory in the women's 5k.

Farmingdale State senior Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) led the Rams with an eighth place finish out of 99 runners. She recorded a time of 21:07.7 and placed fourth among Division III competitors.

Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) (71st - 30:47.2) and Kimberlyn David (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) (79th - 32:48.7) rounded out the top three FSC women.

On the men's side, senior Connor McKeever (West Babylon, N.Y.) placed 60th (out of 151 runners) in a time of 31:10.9.

Sophomore Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) (32:45.0) and senior Thomas Moeller (Kings Park, N.Y.) (32:48.9) finished in 78th and 79th, respectively.

The Farmingdale State cross country teams will next travel to Purchase, N.Y. to compete in the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday, September 10th.
