Men's & Women's Cross Country Place Fourth at Skyline Championships

Milton, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Skyline Conference Championship at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y. on Sunday, October 24th and both came in fourth place. 

After placing five runners in the top-10, St. Joseph's-Long Island took home the women's title.

On the men's side, the United States Merchant Marine Academy repeated as Skyline Conference Champions as all five of their runners came in the top 13. 

Women's Race - 6K

Farmingdale State sophomore Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) earned First Team All-Conference honors after leading FSC with a seventh place finish in 26:49.5.

Freshman Gianna Scibelli (North Babylon, N.Y.) came in 23rd out of 75 runners in a time of 30:51.7. Junior Nazira Bah-Traore (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) placed 33rd in 33:13.6 and freshman Jillian Kosky (Merrick, N.Y.) took 38th in 34:44.7.

Freshman Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y.) (35:56.5) rounded out the scoring for Farmingdale State with 45th place. 

Sayra Raya of Merchant Marine came in first in 25:54.2 and was named the Runner of the Year.

Men's Race - 8K

For the men, FSC junior Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) earned Second Team All-Skyline honors after coming in 10th place (out of 86 runners) in 29:22.4.

Rams' freshman Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) finished in 31:12.2 and placed 20th, while freshman Daniel Catano (Deer Park, N.Y.) (31:59.4) and sophomore Connor McKeever (North Babylon, N.Y.) (32:09.5) took 30th and 31st, respectively.

Sophomore Wyatt Rogers (Central Square, N.Y.) came in 34th in 32:18.9 to complete the Farmingdale State scoring.

Aodhan Meyer of Merchant Marine was named Runner of the Year after placing first in 27:16.8.
