Men Place Fourth, Women Finish Seventh at MSMC Knight Invitational

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The FSC men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Mount Saint Mary College Knight Invitational on Sunday morning and finished in fourth and seventh place, respectively. Coast Guard took first in the men's 8k race, while FDU-Florham captured the women's 6k run.

Junior Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State in the men's 8k, placing 16th out of 135 runners in a time of 30:12.6.

Freshman Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) took 45th in 32:50.9, while freshman Daniel Catano (Deer Park, N.Y.) (33:04.9) and sophomore Thomas Moeller (Kings Park, N.Y.) (33:10.6) rounded out the top-4 for the Rams.

For the women, sophomore Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) recorded a 10th place finish out of 81 competitors in 28:25.7. Freshman Gianna Scibelli (North Babylon, N.Y.) finished 27th in 32:36.6, while freshman Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y.) placed 41st in 36:59.7.

FSC next will head to the Highlander XC Challenge in Branch Brook, N.J. on Saturday, October 2nd.
