Brookville, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the LIU Post Invitational on Saturday, September 19. The men's team finished 7th out of 13 teams in a field comprised of Divsion I, II, III and Junior College teams.
The men's team was led by junior Belony Borange (Valley Stream, N.Y.), who had an outstanding performance with a 23rd place finish in a time of 29:10. He was followed by freshman Franklin Turcios (Westbury, N.Y.) who ran 31:40, while freshman Chris Mueller (Mineola, N.Y.) was third for the Rams with a personal best time for an 8k of 31:45.
The women's team finished in 14th place. Sophomore Nicole Franz (Huntington, N.Y.) led with a strong performance finishing in a time of 22:36. In second for the Rams was sophomore Jennifer Bonilla (Amityville, N.Y.) at 24:47 and in third was sophomore Ellen Kim (Queens, N.Y.) at 25:22.
Farmingdale State will have a break next weekend before running in the Mount Saint Mary Invitational at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y.
