2013 Men's and Women's Cross Country Season Recap

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's and women's cross country teams each finished in sixth place at the Skyline Conference Championship held at Van Cortlandt Park.

Freshman Jacob Kashani (Roslyn, N.Y.) was named Second Team All-Skyline after a ninth place finish at the championship in 29:37.10. The women were led by senior Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) who earned a team-leading 19th place finish in 22:18.32.

At the ECAC Championships held at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I., the women's team posted a program-best 33rd place finish out of 47 teams.

Bonilla and Kashani led the Rams at the St. Joseph's College Invitational as they each finished in 15th place individually. Freshman Kristen Starke (Bellmore, N.Y.) placed 27th in 23:32.7.

At the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational at Chadwick Lake Park, Kashani (33rd) and sophomore Dan Barrett (Wantagh, N.Y.) (39th) led the men, while Starke finished in a team-best 36th place for the women.

Sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) recorded a 50th place finish at the LIU/Post Invitational and Bonilla led the women as she finished 38th out of 115.

The women will be graduating three seniors, while the men will return their entire roster for the 2014 season.
