Skyline Releases Cross Country Report #6

- Bonilla and Tiernan each named Runner of the Week, Frederic named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the sixth Cross Country report for the 2011 season this afternoon, including Runner of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Sophomore Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Women's Runner of the Week for cross country. Bonilla was Farmingdale State's top finisher in the Highlander Invitational, netting a 41st place finish of 125 runners. She ran the 5K course in 21:26, helping her team to a 12th place finish.

Senior Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Men's Runner of the Week. Tiernan led the charge for the Rams, leading them to a sixth place finish of 15 teams at NJIT’s Highlander Invitational. He covered the 8K course in 26:12, finishing in 13th place individually out of 135 runners.

Freshman William Frederic (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the men's cross country Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Frederic had an excellent run at NJIT, covering the Branch Brook Park course in 28:18, finishing in 38th place overall. Frederic was the second best finisher for Farmingdale State.
