Rams Take 3rd and 8th at Lightning Invitational

Bronx, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country team ran on Sunday, October 2nd at the Lightning Invitational, hosted by Lehman College, at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The men's team finished in 3rd place of 19, while the women's team finished in 8th of 15 teams.

The leader for the men was senior Russell Darress (Lynbrook, N.Y.) with a time of 30:09.05 and a 14th place finish, followed by an impressive first race by freshman William Frederic (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with a time of 30:49.14 and a 20th place finish.

On the women's side, sophomore Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) led the team with a 23rd place finish in a time of 22:53.27, her third consecutive race as the team leader. Freshmen Druscilla Dickson (Copiague, N.Y.) and Megan Cabasino (Long Beach, N.Y.) ran well with times of 24:15.17 and 24:29.16, respectively.

Next up for the Rams is the NJIT "Highlander Invitational" at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J. on Sunday, October 9th.
