Skyline Releases Cross Country Report #9
- Sean Tiernan named Runner of the Week -
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the
ninth cross country report for the 2010 season on Monday afternoon,
including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and
Conference statistics.
Junior Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) was named Skyline Conference Runner of the Week for men's cross country. Tiernan clearly established himself as the Skyline Conference’s premier runner this season. His performance at the Skyline Conference Championship only enhanced his standing. Tiernan captured the individual title with a time of 27:16.1, winning by more than 47 seconds. He is Farmingdale State's first-ever individual champion.
Junior Sean Daly (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and senior Tim Flynn (Smithtown, N.Y./St. Anthony's) were each named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Daly finished in 4th place at the Skyline Conference Championship (28:16.4) and Flynn took 9th place with a time of 29:01.3.
Senior Mary Orobona (Farmingdale, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's cross country. Orobona finished in 10th place individually at the Skyline Championship in a time of 21:57.7.
