Skyline Releases Cross Country Report #8
- Tiernan named Runner of the Week, Orobona named to Honor Roll -
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the
eighth cross country report for the 2010 season on Monday
afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor
Roll and Conference statistics.
Junior Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) was named Skyline Conference Runner of the Week for men's cross country. In a prelude to next week’s Skyline Conference Championship, Tiernan was the top Skyline Conference finisher at the St. Joseph’s Invitational, finishing fourth in the field of 173 runners with a time of 27:38. Tiernan, who ran a 5:32 pace, was the top Division III finisher. He helped the Rams to a 3rd-place finish out of 22 teams.
Senior Mary Orobona (Farmingdale, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's cross country. Orbona placed eighth among Division III runners at the SJC Invitational (22:58).
