Rams Gear Up for DIII Regionals

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's cross country team, the 2009 Skyline Conference Champions, are preparing for the Division III Cross Country Regionals on Saturday, November 14th. The meet is hosted by SUNY Geneseo and will take place at Letchworth State Park in Mount Morris, N.Y.
The Rams are competing in their first NCAA Regional after winning a first-ever Skyline Championship on Sunday, November 1st.
At the Regionals, 16 teams (including the top two teams from each region) will automatically qualify for the Division III National Championship, while 16 at-large teams will be selected by the Championship committee, only the top five teams in each regional will be considered. The committee will also choose 56 individual qualifiers, seven per region, to run as individuals in the Championship.
The National Championship field will be posted online on Sunday, November 15th at 3:00 p.m. The Division III Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College in Highland Hills, Ohio on Saturday, November 21st.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHP QUALIFIER INFORMATION:
Teams (32 per gender)
will be selected to the NCAA Championships in the following
manner:
16 teams will automatically qualify (two per region);
16 at-large teams will be selected by the committee to be
determined using the published criteria in the championships
handbook. Only the top five teams in each regional will be
considered. Forms for the at large entries can be found on the
forms page.
Individuals (56 per
gender) will be selected in the following manner:
56 Individuals will automatically qualify (7 per region)
All 7 members from the two automatic qualifying teams will be
removed from the results and the remaining individuals (not with a
qualifying team) will be renumbered to determine individual
national qualifiers.
