Men Take Second, Women Take Fifth at Blue Knight Invitational

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country team ran at the Blue Knight Invitational this morning, held at Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y.
Rams sophomore Kristyn Ruggiero (Commack, N.Y./Commack) placed 8th individually with a time of 22:13 for the 5K course to lead the women's team to a 5th place finish out of 7 teams.
For the men, freshman Sean Daly (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) placed 5th in a time of 28:48 for the 8K course to lead the men's team to a 2nd place finish out of 8 teams. The top 5 Farmingdale State men were all freshmen. The men's team also finished ahead of Division II Molloy College.
The team will run next at the Highlander Invitational on Sunday, October 12th at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J.
