New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country team opened the 2007 season at the NYU Invitational today at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The men's team finished 20th of 25 teams, led by freshman Mitchell Rippe (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) with a time of 31:18 (195th place) for the new 8000-meter pre-regional championship course. Freshman Kristyn Ruggiero (Commack, N.Y./Commack) led the women with a 27:07 (159th place) finish for the new 6000-meter women's course.
