2002 Season - This year's men's cross country team finished with a 37-48 record against Division III competition. The team was led by Freshman Armann Leiffson from Half Hollow Hills East who set a school record at the Stevens Tech Halloween Run held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. In addition, Leiffson and teammate Al Colon turned in the 3rd and 4th best times posted by Farmingdale runners at the DeSales University Invitational in Allentown, PA. The team highlighted its season with a 3rd place finish at the Skyline Conference Championships, qualifying for the ECAC Championships held in Williamstown, MA. The Rams finished 27th out of 40 schools competing in the ECAC's.

The Farmingdale womens cross country team was led by team captain Diana Baxter who placed 2nd in the WIAC Conference Championships and 4th in the Skyline Championships. Diana was named All-WIAC and All-Skyline for her performance.

Arnold Minkoff named Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track Coach at Farmingdale State

Mike Harrington, Director of Athletics at Farmingdale State, is pleased to announce the hiring of Arnold Minkoff as Head Coach for Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track. Minkoff, who recently retired as the Athletic Director of Oyster Bay High School, returns to Farmingdale State for his second coaching stint. He was the head cross country coach at Farmingdale from 1984-85 and head track coach from 1980–1989. Recently, Minkoff coached at CW Post (1989-1995) and East Meadow High School (2002-2003). Minkoff replaces Steve Hayden, who retired after the 2003 seasons.
