Track and Field Gears Up for NJAC's at Lions Invitational

EWING, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College outdoor track and field teams took part in their final meet before the May 6-7 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships this past weekend, competing at TCNJ's Lions Invitational.

Women's junior standout Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.) registered the eighth-best FSC time in program history in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a seventh-place time of 1:03.05. Senior distance runner Alycia Haynes (Adams Ctr., N.Y.) placed seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:59.12, which now sits third on the Rams' all-time ledger. Junior jumper Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.) checked in with an eighth-place showing in the triple jump, leaping to a mark of 9.75m (32-0).

On the men's side, senior Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, N.Y.) placed second and sixth in the 400 (55.64) and 110-meter (16.06) hurdles, respectively, while senior Rodney Jerome (Westbury, N.Y.) placed ninth with his 110-meter time of 16.68. Top-eight finishes in the field events went to freshman Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) with his sixth-place mark of 13.18m (43-3) in the triple jump, as well as an eighth-place showing in the hammer throw by senior Jahvirye Wilks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) with a toss of 46.53m (152-8) that ranks No. 8 on FSC's all-time list.

The NJAC Championships will take place in Mahwah, N.J., with Ramapo College playing host to the two-day meet.
