Kalinowski, Russell Earn Victories at NJAC Championship

MAHWAH, N.J. | The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the NJAC Championship at Ramapo College on Saturday and Sunday and placed 6th and 7th, respectively. The men totaled 39 points at the meet, while the women earned 30 points.

Rowan cruised to the men's championship with 296 points and TCNJ took the women's title with 239.5 points.

FSC sophomore Robert Kalinowski (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned the sole victory for the men with his first place mark of 5,206 points in the 10-event decathlon. This was a personal-best for Kalinowski and the eighth highest mark in school history.

Freshman Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) also picked up a podium finish on the men's side in the triple jump with his personal-best mark of 45' 1" (13.74m).

Senior Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, N.Y.) recorded a 55.85 in the 400m hurdle preliminaries to earn his spot in the finals. In the finals, Stocken VI posted a career-best time of 54.58 for fourth place while moving into fifth all-time at FSC.

Stocken VI also competed in the 110m high hurdles and ran a 15.69 in the prelims before a 15.72 in the finals for eighth place.

In the 3000m steeplechase, senior Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) produced a fifth place finish in 10:07.86.

Junior Timothy Folarin (Elmont, N.Y.) registered personal-best times in both the 100m (11.45) and 200m (22.93) and came in 17th in both events.

FSC's 4x400m relay team (Samuel Aladegboungbe (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Connor McKeever (North Babylon, N.Y.), Tristan Socias (Uniondale, N.Y.) and Stocken VI) earned three team points (6th - 3:27.56), while the 4x100m relay team (Folarin, Aladegboungbe, Nathaniel Blades (Freeport, N.Y.) and Morris Johnson (Binghamton, N.Y.)) tallied two points (7th - 44.53).

Senior Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) earned four points for the Rams with fifth place in the decathlon (3,305 points).

Sophomore Steven Grannis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) also tallied a point in the hammer with his career-best toss of 146' (44.51m) and eighth place overall.

On the women's side, senior Emily Russell (Southold, N.Y.) was victorious in the heptathlon with a score of 4,033 points. Senior Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) also competed in the seven-event heptathlon and earned six team points with her third place finish (2,737 points). Russell is second on the FSC record list, while Kemp moved into sixth place all-time.

Senior Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) captured a platform finish with third place in the 1500m in 4:55.41. Her time was a career-best and placed her second in program history. She was less than one second behind the all-time mark.

Senior Michaela Rapisarda (Deer Park, N.Y.) improved her career-best time in the 3,000m steeplechase by nearly 20 seconds with a time of 13:16.72. She placed eighth and now sits in second in the record book. 

Rapisarda also set a personal-best in the pole vault with a height of 7' 8.5" (2.35m) and is fourth on the all-time list.

In the women's 4x400m relay, sophomore Meghan Cichon (Mahopac, N.Y.), junior Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.), Haynes and senior Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) moved into seventh in program history with a time of 4:20.74. This was the fastest time for a 4x400m relay team for the women this season.

Sophomore Madelyn Karman (Sayville, N.Y.) recorded a personal-best in the hammer (105' 3" - 32.09m) and improved her ninth-place mark on the all-time list.

McNeil competed in the 100m (15th) and 200m (16th) and collected team-best times of 12.91 and 26.31, respectively.

Junior Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded ninth in the triple jump (31' 5.75" - 9.59m) and 16th in the long jump (15' 0.5" - 4.58m) for the Rams.
