Five Rams Earn Top-5 Finishes at Osprey Open

POMONA, N.J. | The FSC men's and women's outdoor track & field teams returned to Stockton College on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Osprey Open and had four individuals place in the top-5, along with one relay.

On the men's side, Farmingdale State senior Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, N.Y.) won the 400m hurdles for the third consecutive week with his run of 56.93. In the same event, senior Rodney Jerome (Westbury, N.Y.) took fourth place with a time of 1:00.79.

Stocken VI and Jerome also ran in the 110m high hurdles and earned fifth and sixth, respectively, in 16.11 and 16.27.

Senior Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) competed in the 3000m steeplechase and picked up a second place finish in 10:02.40, a new personal-best mark and ranks fifth on the FSC all-time list.

Sophomore Robert Kalinowski (Farmingdale, N.Y.) tallied a personal-best 4,643 points in the 10-event decathlon to earn second place. He improved his #8 all-time mark on the record list for FSC.

Freshman Samuel Aladegboungbe (Bay Shore, N.Y.) captured sixth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.66m (5' 5.25"). Sophomore Jovany Philippe (Huntington, N.Y.) registered a long jump of 5.99m to lead the Rams.

In the triple jump, freshman Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) (12.92m), sophomore Isaiah Mehnert (West Babylon, N.Y.) (11.63m) and junior Theo Triadafillopulos (Levittown, N.Y.) (11.62m) placed seventh, eighth and ninth.

Senior thrower Jahvirye Wilks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) had a career-day tallying personal-best marks in the shot put (13.27m - 8th), discus (32.88 - 14th) and hammer (38.39 - 14th).

Sophomore Steven Grannis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) also competed in the hammer for Farmingdale State and earned ninth place with his toss of 40.20m.

Freshman Renzo Chevez (Westbury, N.Y.) ran a team-best time of 53.50 in the 400m, senior Connor McKeever (North Babylon, N.Y.) earned 17th place in the 800m in 2:08.54 and junior Timothy Folarin (Elmont, N.Y.) led the Rams in the 100m with a time of 11.65 and 18th place.

Junior Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.) led the way on the women's side, matching her career-best in the 100m dash with a time of 12.88 and fourth place out of 37 competitors.

The women's 4x100m relay team of sophomore Meghan Cichon (Mahopac, N.Y.), junior Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.), freshman Mia Harris (Manhattan, N.Y.) and McNeil also earned a top-5 finish, producing a time of 54.04 for third place.

Cichon competed in the 100m and placed 15th with a personal-best time of 13.80.

Senior Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) registered 11th place in the 800m (2:31.82) and 14th in the 1500m (5:17.94), while Finnegan posted career-best marks in both the high jump (1.37m - 9th) and triple jump (9.43m -13th).

Sophomore Madelyn Karman (Sayville, N.Y.) led the FSC throwers and earned 16th in the hammer (30.25m) 18th in the shot put (8.72m) and 20th in the discus (26.68m). Her mark in the discus was a personal-best and moved her into ninth place on the Farmingdale State outdoor track & field record list.

Senior Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) and freshman Christania Fede (Westbury, N.Y.) competed in the heptathlon and earned seventh and ninth place, respectively. Kemp's 2,433 points places her in seventh in FSC history, while Fede's point total of 1,208 sits her in ninth.

Farmingdale State will next compete in the Skyline Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. on Sunday, April 23rd.
