Three Rams Named All-Conference for Outdoor Track & Field

Pitman, N.J. - The 2018 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) men's and women's outdoor track & field All-Conference teams were announced on May 10-11. The league's All-Conference honors were determined based on performances at the 2018 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which were conducted at The College of New Jersey on May 5-6.

Farmingdale State senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) was named First Team All-NJAC in the Hammer, while sophomores James O'Brien (South Jamaica, N.Y.) (3,000m Steeplechase) and Joseph McKeon (Hyde Park, N.Y.) (Decathlon) both earned Second Team honors.

At the Championship, Ewa won the Hammer for the third straight season with a throw of 56.05m, beating his own meet record from last year. This spring, he won the Hammer in four out of five meets, including the NJAC's, TCNJ Invite, Wolfie Invitational, and the Skyline Championship. Ewa currently leads the region in the Hammer and is ranked 17th in the Nation.

O'Brien broke the school record for the 3000m Steeplechase after finishing in 9:44.20 and taking 2nd place overall. His time breaks a school record that has stood since 2010. This season, O'Brien won the Steeplechase event at the TCNJ Invite and the Skyline Championship and finished second at three other meets. 

McKeon finished in 2nd place overall in the Decathlon with 5,612 points, improving his #3 mark all-time at FSC. Additionally, he claimed third place at the Osprey Open and placed third in both the 110m Hurdles and Javelin at the Wolfie Invitational. McKeon is also the Skyline Champion for the High Jump and Javelin.
