Ewa Wins Hammer Throw at Atlantic Regionals

Brockport, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's outdoor track team competed in five events at the 2018 NCAA Atlantic Regionals held at the College of Brockport. FSC was led by senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) who bested the field of 16 competitors in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.92m (180' 2"). Ewa is ranked 20th in the Nation for the hammer throw and for the second straight season will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 24-26 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Senior Nikola Georgiev (Kings Park, N.Y.) took fifth and moved to #8 all-time at FSC in the 200m with a time of 21.84, while junior Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) placed 11th in the 400m (49.80). In the 3000m steeplechase, sophomore James O'Brien (South Jamaica, N.Y.) recorded a 10th place finish in 10:02.95 and the 4x100m relay team of Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.), Sellitto, Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) and Georgiev finished seventh in 43.07.

Ewa will compete in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m.
