Rams Take Second Place at Wolfie Invitational

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track team competed at the Wolfie Invitational on Saturday, April 21 at Stony Brook University. The men's team finished in 2nd place overall, ahead of seven Division I teams at the meet. The Rams were the only Division III school competing in the meet.

Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) won the Hammer with a distance of 166' 9", while finishing in 3rd place in the Shot Put (39' 11.5") and 5th place in the Discus (110' 7"). Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) placed 3rd in the 400m with a time of 49.79, moving him to 14th place in the region. He also took 8th place in the 200m (22.89). Nikola Georgiev (Kings Park, N.Y.) took 5th place in the 100m (11.24) and 7th place in the 200m (22.72).

For the women, sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) placed 4th in the 5000m in a career-best 19:12.16, improving to #2 all-time at FSC. Freshman Marina Magoulas (Central Islip, N.Y.) placed 4th in the Hammer (125' 10"), 6th in the Discus (104' 10", moved to #3 all-time) and 9th in the Shot Put (29' 2").

Discus: Nicolas Fratto, 2nd place, 38.08m (124' 11")

Hammer: Thomas Franks, 3rd place, 41.56m (136' 4")

Javelin: Joseph McKeon, 3rd place, 40.12m (131' 7")

Women

100m: Samantha Pollucci, 10th place, 12.74 (#6 all-time at FSC)

200m: Samantha Pollucci, 8th place, 26.50

 

The team will now travel to the Penn Relays on April 26-27 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before hosting the Skyline Track Championships on Sunday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m.
