Men Finish 3rd at Osprey Open; Women Finish 13th

Galloway, N.J. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track competed at the Osprey Open at Stockton College on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14. The men's team finished in 3rd place overall after posting 15 Top-10 finishes in the meet, while the women's team placed 13th overall with seven Top-10 marks.

Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) still holds the top regional mark in the Hammer and in this weekends meet took 2nd place with a distance of 172' 3". He also finished 10th in the Shot Put and 14th in the Discus.

Junior Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) and senior Nikola Georgiev (Kings Park, N.Y.) are now both ranked Top-10 in the region for the 200m. Sellitto placed 4th in the 400m, 50.83, and 5th in the 200m, 22.21. His time is the 9th fastest in the region. Georgiev posted a 3rd place finish in the 400m, 50.10, and 7th in the 200m, 22.28, ranking him 10th in the region.

Sophomore James O'Brien (South Jamaica, N.Y.) finished 2nd in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:02.10. Sophomore Joseph McKeon (Hyde Park, N.Y.) posted a 3rd place finish in the Decathlon with 5,432 points, moving him to #3 all-time at FSC.

For the women, sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) posted a 4th place finish in the 5000m race, moving to #4 all-time at FSC in a time of 19:52.88.

Freshman Marina Magoulas (Central Islip, N.Y.) improved her marks in every throwing event. In the Hammer, she finished 5th overall with a distance of 127' 5" (#3 on all-time list). She also finished 7th in the Discus (102' 6", #3 on all-time list) and improved her #9 all-time mark in the Shot Put.

The 4x800m Relay team of Megan Eiseman, Erica Bavaro, Nicole Ferguson and Nicole Franz moved to #2 all-Time at 10:16.75. Bavaro finished 5th in the 3000m Steeplechase to take 2nd all-time at FSC.

The Rams will now travel to the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University on Friday-Saturday, April 20-21 in Princeton, N.J.
