Rams Win Eight Events at Wesleyan Invitational

Middletown, Conn. - The Farmingdale State men's and
women's outdoor track team won eight events on Saturday, April 9th
at the Wesleyan Swanson Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University
in Middletown, Conn. Sophomore Faustine Chukwuezi (Central Islip,
N.Y.) won both the Long Jump and Triple Jump. Her distance in the
Long Jump was 4.87m (15' 11 3/4"), while her distance in the Triple
Jump was 11.05m (36' 3"). Faustine, a 2011 Indoor All-American in
the Triple Jump, has already qualified for the 2011 Outdoor
Nationals.
Below are some highlights from the event...
Freshman Katherine Hoskins (Valley Stream, N.Y.) won the 100m in 13.31. This improves her #9 on the Farmingdale State All-Time records list.
Sophomore Kathleen Clermont (Uniondale, N.Y.) won the 200m in 27.19.
Sophomore Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.) won the 100m Hurdles in 15.64. Vicky currently holds the school record in the event with a time of15.13.
Vicky, Kathleen, Katherine and Faustine teamed together to win the 4x100m Relay in 50.53. This places them #5 on the All-Time list.
Sophomore Mike Jang (Lynbrook, N.Y.) did well in the field events, as he won the Shot Put with a throw of 13.40m (43' 11 3/4"). He also placed 2nd in the hammer Throw with a toss of 41.26m (135' 4") and placed 3rd in the Discus with a throw of 38.85m (127' 5").
Junior Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y.) won the 3000m Steeplechase in a time of 9:53.8. He currently holds the Steeplechase record at 9:50.58.

Greg Denis - 400m Intermediate Hurdles, 2nd place, 55.47, Improves ECAC qualifying performance
Joanna Pavone - Pole Vault, 2.60m (8' 6 1/4"), Personal best, Improves #2 distance on All-Time list.
Marjorie Diemicke - 400m Hurdles, 2nd place, 69.74, Personal best, Moves to #4 on All-Time list.
The Rams will participate next in the Collegiate Track Conference Championship on Saturday, April 16th.
