Springfield, Mass. - Indoor track's Most Valuable Athlete, Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale), won the triple jump with a leap of 14.14m (46' 4 1/2"). Ellis' winning performance came on his 6th and final jump. Ellis was in second place going into the final round, when he came through under pressure to win the competition.

Outdoor track's Most Valuable Athlete, Jermaine Carter (Rego Park, N.Y./Mt. St. Michael Academy), competed in three events at the meet. Carter placed 6th in the 400m run in 49.43. He also ran on two outstanding relays. Carter teamed with Jason Chin Chitty, Naveed Mohammed, and Steven Brown to place 8th in the 4x100m relay. He also anchored the 4x400m relay in a fast 49.3 to lead the team to a season best 3:20.86. This is the second fastest 4x400m relay in the last three years. Teaming with Carter was Samar Hall (50.4), Greg Denis (51.4) and John Bates (49.7).

The overall team tied for 21st place out of the 71 entered teams.
